You will read in the media that nutritional supplements cause deaths, breast cancer, expensive urine and we don’t need to take them. I suggest that you do make sure that your beliefs are based on reliable sources and not just the latest headline.

It is important not to take the media reports at face value – they are there to sell bad news. For instance, does the latest research define what supplements were taken in what doses, for how long, what was the strength, what was the bioavailability, are they balanced and what was the quality? Were the supplements from a natural source or were they artificial (a factor in the case of Vitamin E for instance)? What other factors were involved e.g. the health of the subjects before the study? Sometimes the answers to these types of questions are difficult to find.
My belief is based on my experience, the many books about nutrition that I have read, and the doctors and scientists I have listened to.
According to Michael Lam, MD, MPH, ABAAM: “Study after study over the past 40 years confirms that nutritional supplementation is a cheap insurance for longevity and cancer prevention if taken at the optimum dosage. Nutritional supplementation is a food. It is not giving your body something that your body does not have. It is to supplement your body’s existing level and to ensure that the proper nutrient at the proper level is available for the body at all times.
It is an accepted fact that people have different nutritional needs based on genetics, weight, gender, age, health status, physical activity, and ability to absorb nutrients. If you don’t know what you need, the safest strategy is to err on the side of slight excess if you are in general good heath. Having a little extra of any nutrient won’t harm you. But a brief deficiency can, and a chronic will.Taking optimal amounts of nutritional supplements is a cornerstone and key component of any comprehensive anti-aging program. You simply cannot get enough of these nutrients from your diet for optimum health, and having inadequate amounts can kill you.”
My parents had a healthy lifestyle. Unfortunately my Dad did smoke cigarettes but stopped when I was born. They lived in Australia which is conducive to growing your own fruit and vegetables in the back garden. So they ate organically from their garden (my Mum was such a great cook that my Dad preferred eating meals at home), they had moderate exercise (swimming and walking) and had a mostly stress-free life. But that didn’t stop them suffering from arthritis, heart disease and in my father’s case – prostate cancer. My mother suffered from high blood pressure for many years and was on expensive BP medication. My mother died at the age of 71 from a heart attack and my dad died at 77 from the prostate cancer. Sadly, they have missed out on seeing their grandchildren reach adulthood. As far as my beliefs are concerned, I now know that eating healthfully isn’t enough.
Many doctors do not encourage their patients to take supplements because they only know about over-the-counter (OTC) ones. Most of the OTC supplements are made to food grade standards and only come up to Recommended Daily Allowance doses – which is just not good enough. What we need to look for, are advanced quality, GMP standard, optimal dosage supplements. Also, once-a-day tablets are a waste of money.
“The FDA looks at nutritional supplements the same way it looks at foods. This entire industry is really not regulated, and a nutritional company can pretty much put any amount of nutrients in their tablets. In other words, the amount stated on the label is not necessarily what is in the tablet. Unless a nutritional company voluntarily produces its nutritional supplements in a pharmaceutical-grade method, the consumer has no assurance that what is on the label is in the tablet. Why sell your health to the lowest bidder? Taking high-quality, complete and balanced nutritional are the least expensive health insurance policy you will ever purchase.” – Doctor Ray Strand
The optimal level of vitamin E is 400 IU. What do we need to eat to get 400 IU of vitamin E? You would only need to eat 33 heads of spinach or 28 pounds of butter or 5 pounds of wheat germ each day to get that much vitamin E!
The optimal level of vitamin C is about 1000 to 2000 mg daily (the RDA is only 60 mg). You would only have to eat 18 large oranges or 80 avocados to get that amount of vitamin C from your diet.
Taking advanced quality, balanced, broad-spectrum, bioavailable, comprehensive, high-potency nutritional supplements supports:
healthy aging and long-term optimal health,
heart health,
joint and cartilage health,
brain health,
bone health,
liver health,
eye health,
oral health,
mental health,
maintenance of muscle strength,
supports a robust and healthy immune system,
supports optimal stamina,
helps the body to cope with stress
- as well as offering complete antioxidant protection against oxidative stress caused by free radical damage.Until I was 48, I did not give much thought to having a healthy lifestyle. Yes, I exercised and I ate (and still do) the organic vegetables that my husband enjoys growing in our back garden. But I was lacking in energy. I put that down to getting older. It wasn’t until I started taking supplements that my energy levels revived and I felt more vibrant. I have been taking advanced quality nutritional supplements every day, twice a day since the year 2000 and I plan to take them for the rest of my life. My BP is normal and I don’t have the arthritis that my parents suffered. And not only that, I don’t feel old! So something is making a difference.

I am a baby boomer and I am feeling great. However I see other boomers who are starting to crumble. Just recently a friend of mine, who is well under 50, has been diagnosed with pre-cancerous cells and will shortly be undergoing an operation. Her youngest daughter is 6 years old. Who do you know who has suffered from cancer, heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, and stroke? I have had two friends my age die from breast cancer and ovarian cancer in the last two years. What can we do to stay younger longer so that we can live life to the full?
There are lots of commonsense things that we know about and can do (and should do).
Here are 10 healthy aging strategies:
1. Enjoy sunshine! We need to spend 15 to 20 minutes in bright sun to allow our bodies to make the hormone Vitamin D. If you live in temperate zones (37 degrees north and south of the equator) consider topping up with a good quality Vitamin D3 product 1000 to 5000 iu daily.
2. Eat fresh non-processed food. Eat a variety of fruit and veggies every day. Cut out sugar. Eat good quality protein in small amounts. Here is a few smoothie and juice recipes that are easy to make.
3. Drink plenty of good water. Some people say they don’t like the taste. I have installed a reverse osmosis water filter and it not only makes the water taste delicious, chemicals and toxins have been removed. On top of flushing toxins out of the body, a major BENEFIT of drinking water is to carry NUTRIENTS into the cells of the body. In addition to helping nutrients get into the cells where they are needed, the benefit of drinking water in adequate amounts also helps to keep the CELLS well …hydrated so they can FUNCTION properly and efficiently. Cut down or stop drinking sugary drinks.
4. Exercise. Find something you enjoy – walking, dancing, cycling, gardening, jogging, pilates, zumba, playing golf…add a comment and tell us what you do for exercise and why you like it. Click here for more ideas.
5. Rest. Find something that gives you peaceful enjoyment that releases you from life’s stresses. It may be meditation, listening to music, curling up with a good library book. What do you do for quiet enjoyment?
6. Sleep soundly – Click here for more information
7. Take advanced quality nutritional supplements. Taking once-a-day supplements will not make you healthier. Nor do supplements that are at Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA/RDI) doses. They are a waste of money. The best ones are at optimum levels. Everyone needs to at least take a mega antioxidant, a multi-mineral, a calcium/magnesium and omega-3 supplements.
8. Check your attitude. Do you look for solutions or do you focus on the problems? Do you look for good in people or do you enjoy criticising? Do you work at being positive or negative? It’s your choice what you think – so choose wisely. This is a video of man who is making the most of what he has got.
9. Have fun! Look after your friends and family. Make new friends. Share, laugh and cry together. Contribute to your community – giving is far more rewarding than receiving.
10. Last but not least – visit your dentist. Yes, attractive looking teeth make us look younger and not only that, good oral health is vital for our health. This is a tip that is often overlooked. My journey over the last nine years has awakened me to the health benefits of good oral health. And on top of that, I am married to a dentist who has also been educating me about the toxic nature of mercury amalgam fillings. By going to your dentist regularly you will be helped to keep gum disease and tooth decay at bay. Bacteria in the mouth contributes to inflammation which may lead to heart disease and diabetes. If you have mercury amalgam fillings consider having them removed safely and replaced with natural white coloured fillings for younger looking teeth. Click here for more oral health information.

I think that most of us would value our eyesight and would not want to lose it through aging. I have spoken recently to a neighbor who has problems with cataracts – she is finding it difficult to read books and is waiting for an operation.
Cataracts are very common, affecting roughly 60% of people over the age of 60, and over 1.5 million cataract surgeries are performed in the United States each year. Most common complaints include difficulty driving at night, reading, participating in sports such as golfing, or travelling to unfamiliar areas; these are all activities for which clear vision is essential.
I had an aunt whose hobby was embroidery and she lost the ability to discern the colours of the threads when she suffered from cataracts. After the operation, she was amazed at the difference in her sight. My father also suffered from cataracts. He was a professional photographer and film-maker and even though he had retired, it made life difficult until he had the operation.
A few years ago, another elderly neighbour began using a walking stick because she was going blind as a result of age-related macular degeneration (AMD). In the United States, age-related macular degeneration is the leading cause of blindness in people over 60 years of age.
As I love reading and travelling, I would hate the thought of having impaired eyesight and worse still, the loss of eyesight.
Imagine not being able to see a view like this one of Wellington Harbour, New Zealand.

A simple preventative solution is to wear sunglasses when in bright sunlight. And by combining a healthy diet of fresh fruit and vegetables, plus supplements may provide further fortification.
The Journal of the American Medical Association reported in its November 9, 1994 issue that individuals who have the highest intake of beta-carotene have a 43% lower risk of developing macular degeneration than those with the lowest levels. Other epidemiological studies have shown that people with macular degeneration also had low levels of zinc, selenium, vitamin C, carotonoids, and vitamin E when compared to control groups that did not have macular degeneration.
Clinical studies have identified particular nutrients that appear to be beneficial in macular degeneration. Mixed carotenoids containing lutein and zeaxanthin have been found to improve the pigment density in the macula. In fact, supplementing with lutein showed about a 50% increase in concentration of this nutrient within the macula of the eye. This offers the macula increased protection against high-energy light and free radical damage. It is like having an internal pair of sunglasses, since lutein gives this area an amber color that is able to filter the light before it hits the retina. (Ref: Doctor Ray Strand)
Another good reason to take high-quality antioxidants/multi-vitamin and multi-mineral supplements combined with a healthy diet.

Exercise to stay young
Filed under Healthy Aging Wellness TipsMay 7
Moderate exercise is critical for a healthy and youthful body, and to de-stress. The main thing is that you enjoy it! Whether you dance, cycle, run, walk, swim, workout at the gym, go to zumba classes, do pilates or yoga – it has to be fun. If you haven’t exercised for a while, then it is best to get a check-up from your Doctor before you start. By the way, going shopping at the mall for two hours does not count as exercise! The latest advice I have heard for exercise is that is has to be 20 to 30 minutes a day. And you have to vary the pace – from normal to fast so that our bodies don’t get in a rut. So for instance, walk at a normal pace for 4 minutes, then speed up for one minute, normal 4 minutes, speed-up 1 minute and so on (it’s called “interval training”).
Watch this video to discover what is the one best thing you can do for your health:
Another thing to add in is some weights exercises for our arms. You may have noticed that your tops of your arms are getting saggy and you are hinding them away in sleeves. To overcome that issue, then you may wish to spend 5 minutes a day lifting light weights of 1-2ks. I have heard that this is what Michelle Obama does to keep her arms toned.
I really enjoy walking and I wear ankle and wrist velcro weights (you can buy them from your local sports store) to tone my muscles. If you enjoy walking and are living or visiting Auckland you may wish to visit Walks in Auckland for inspiration.
And it is important thing is to breathe! And that means deep breaths. This is a great way to de-stress. Adrenal Fatigue is a problem that is difficult to diagnose and which many people unknowingly suffer from due to their highly stressed lifestyles. The toxins can build up in the adrenal glands, so it is very important that we find ways to de-stress.
1)Take deep breaths 10 times a day – raising your arms above your head as you breathe in, then breath out slowly, drop your arms, bend your knees, cross your arms in front of your body, then slowly rise up as you breathe in again.
2) Block one nostril at a time, and breathe through the other one – 7 times a day
3) take 2 short breaths, 1 long breath and hold, then breath out while you make a scary face (best done in private!) – 7 times a dayIf you live in the USA then the following may be helpful:

How sleep affects aging
Filed under Healthy Aging Wellness TipsMay 7
Different people thrive on different amounts of sleep. Research shows that we get the best quality of sleep between the hours of 10pm and 2am. Why is it important to sleep early? Between the hours of 11pm and 1am, your body’s adrenals undergo recovery and recharging. Lack of good quality sleep will affect how we age.The consequences of insufficient sleep are:
1. Viral infections
2. Weight gain
3. Diabetes Mellitus Type 2
4. High blood pressure
5. Heart disease
6. Mental Illness
7. MortalityWhat can you do if you cannot sleep?
First of all, look at your lifestyle -
* Do you get daily exercise?
* Get your Vitamin D levels checked. Restless sleep may be caused by Vitamin D3 deficiency.
* Are you taking prescription medicine that may be interfering with your sleep?
* Hormonal issues? – going through menopause can cause sleep disturbance – find a doctor who will check your hormone levels and who prescribes ONLY Bioidentical Hormones. Buy the book ‘Breakthrough’ by Suzanne Somers (link below) and read chapter 22.
* Do you abstain from drinking excessive alcohol? (best to avoid alcohol if insomnia is a problem)
* Avoid caffeine (it’s a bladder irritant)
* Do you meditate to empty your brain of thoughts?
* Do you have your last meal/snack at least 4 hours before retiring?
* Is your bedroom darkened?
* Cover your bedroom mirrors if their reflections make you feel unsafe
* Is your bedroom quiet?
* Is your bed comfortable?
* Develop and adhere to a ‘going to sleep’ ritual
* Consider purchasing a magnetic bed system
* Don’t watch, read or listen to anything that might be disturbing before bedtime which might activate your sympathetic nervous system
*Avoid emotionally stressful discussions or potentially difficult phone calls near bedtime
* Don’t stew over worries, things not said, things not done or what you have to do tomorrow
* Put your worries to bed by writing them down so you don’t have to think about themSecondly, you may find it helpful to get out of bed and find a warm, comfortable place to read quietly for half an hour, have a small glass of water and then return to bed.
Thirdly, you may wish to consider taking supplements such as melatonin and/or a high quality calcium/magnesium supplement.
Calcium and magnesium helps with the expansion and contraction of muscles, with magnesium supporting the relaxation of muscles throughout our bodies. Women need extra calcium (daily intake 1200mg pre-menopause and 1500mg post-menopause), as we age. Calcium has a calming effect on the nervous system, helps promote restful and high quality sleep, and is good to take right at bedtime. Take calcium with magnesium and Vitamin D for best absorption. Magnesium has a calming effect on the brain and nervous system, and is important for good sleep. It’s a natural sedative and helps the body absorb calcium. A suggested daily magnesium intake is 300mg-500mg. Take your calcium/magnesium supplement along with good quality multivitamin/multimineral to promote the reduction of the effects of stress. Nutrition for good sleep is not instantaneous but may be helpful over time.
We need to sleep in a darkened room so that our bodies can produce melatonin. Melatonin is useful in many important relationships in promoting sleep, mood, and sex drive, reducing depression and the rate of aging, and helping maintain freedom from cancer, diabetes, heart disease and chronic disease in general.
Other natural sleep aids are Natural Progesterone, Kava Kava, Valerian and 5-HTP. These can lose their effectiveness over time so it’s best to use them sparingly, and only after you have tried other routes to a good night’s sleep.
With thanks to Doctor Christiane Northrup “The Wisdom of Menopause” for additional points.
Here is what Dr Mercola has to say about sleep:
“Too little sleep impacts your levels of thyroid and stress hormones, which in turn can affect your memory and immune system, your heart and metabolism, and much more. Over time, lack of sleep can lead to:
Weight gain
Depression
High blood sugar levels and an increased risk of diabetes
Brain damage
The consequences of sleep deprivation are so intense because your circadian rhythm has evolved over hundreds of generations to align your physiology with your environment, and your body clock assumes that, like your ancestors, you sleep at night and stay awake during daylight hours. If you confuse the situation by depriving yourself of enough hours of sleep, you send conflicting signals to your body. For instance, in addition to the above, too little sleep can:
Increase your risk of cancer by altering the balance of hormones in your body
Accelerate aging
Increase your risk of heart disease and stroke
Raise your blood pressure
Speed up tumor growth. Tumors grow two to three times faster in laboratory animals with severe sleep dysfunctions
Sleep researchers from across the United States have also discovered that:A single night of sleeping only four to six hours can impact your ability to think clearly the next day.
Sleep deprivation can cause changes in your brain activity similar to those experienced by people with psychiatric disorders.
Additionally, your body does most of its repairs during sleep, so not getting enough of it can impair your immune system, leaving you less able to fight off diseases of ALL kinds.”Find out which advanced quality nutritional products I use and recommend.

Wellness and aging
Filed under Healthy Aging Wellness TipsMay 4How do you define wellness? In simple terms, it is the absence of disease. In my early years I took wellness as granted, it did not enter my thoughts that I could become unwell. But in today’s world, people are becoming unwell at an earlier age. For instance, Diabetes Type 2 used to be called ‘Adult Onset Diabetes’ – meaning that diabetes did not become apparent until late adulthood. Unfortunately young people now have the lifestyle disease because of what they are eating and the lack of exercise (and even pets are now suffering from the disease too!).
There are other lifestyle diseases that are preventing wellness and causing aging. Diseases like heart disease, stroke, arthritis and cancer. Once my parents began suffering from arthritis, high blood pressure and heart disease, I stopped taking my wellness for granted. And when friends from my peer group started dying as a result of cancer, I realized that I had to be more pro-active about my health and fitness.
What causes aging? One theory is free radicals. Free radicals are produced by our bodies. Dr Ray Strand says that our stressful lifestyles, polluted environment and over-medicated society causes this generation to handle more free radicals than previous generations. We need to supplement our diet to get enough antioxidants to manage the number of free radicals we produce.
Just like a cut apple goes brown when exposed to the air (oxidation), excess free radicals cause oxidative stress damage and aging to our body’s cells.
The medical literature now shows us that the optimal level of the antioxidants and their supporting nutrients needed to prevent or decrease the risk of chronic degenerative diseases is much greater than the amount we can obtain from our depleted food supply. Our best option to prevent or slow down this process of oxidative stress is to take high-quality, complete and balanced nutritional supplements the rest of our lives.
For a more thorough explanation visit Dr Ray Strand’s site.
Getting down to the cell level…
Cell Replacement and the role of Nutrition
The body is designed to heal and repair itself with the aid of proper nutrition. The body requires two vital materials to complete this – energy and raw material. These two requirements are needed to maintain the cell’s proper functions. The body is made up of cells and all cells are living. All living things need food. Each cell needs the proper food to keep it strong. Cells die and replace themselves at various intervals. To understand anti-aging and wellness, understand that when a cell replaces itself it has three options:
1. A cell may replace itself with a weaker cell each time. A cell will do this if it hasn’t had the right nutritional foods/supplements available to it. This process is called degeneration (this causes degenerative diseases like heart disease, cancer, arthritis, stroke, diabetes). You could liken this process to a car factory – if your factory was making Mercedes Benz cars and you ran out of parts, so you called into the Skoda factory next door for replacements – would your car still be a Mercedes???2. A cell can replace itself with the same strength cell. This means the body doesn’t improve. That is, you have a chronic condition.
3. The cell is capable of replacing itself with a stronger and better cell. This will happen only if the cell has an abundance of energy and the right raw materials (e.g. optimal nutrition). This process is called regeneration. It creates wellness and anti-aging.

Hormones and aging
Filed under Healthy Aging Wellness TipsApr 30Are your hormones giving you grief?
Women are the doorway to life and our hormones play a vital role in that process. Many health issues are caused by an imbalance of those pesky hormones in our bodies. It is important to ask your doctor to check out your levels of oestrogen and progestrone if you have any of the following symptons. And I want to place a warning here – if your doctor does detect an imbalance then it is important that only natural hormones are prescribed – synthetic hormones can be toxic and make your symptons worse.
These are some symptons that may be a warning sign that you have a hormonal imbalance:
Insomia, weight gain, lumpy breasts, anxiety, vaginal dryness, night sweats, painful intercourse, memory problem, bladder infection, lethargic, hot flashes, puffiness & bloating, abnormal pap smear, rapid weight gain, mood swings, migrains, foggy thinking, red face flush, gall bladder, weepiness, acne, thinning hair, ovarian cysts, PCOS, high blood sugar, debilating fatigue, low blood pressure, intolerance to exercise, brown face spots. If you have more than one of these symptons, then it’s time to talk to your Doc. Getting your hormones in balance prevents aging and decreases the risk of breast cancer.
Dr Libby Weaver in her book Accidentally Overweight explains weight gain as pieces of a puzzle and we have to figure out which pieces relate to us. Dr Weaver explains how the hormones work for us and against us. I have found her book both fascinating and helpful.

De-stress your life
Filed under Healthy Aging Wellness TipsApr 30Do you feel stressed? Is your life just one big rush, trying to balance many tasks? Stress is a big factor in the aging process.
* Stress can cause headaches, nausea, psychological problems and even heart-attacks.
* Stress lowers our white blood cell count, making us more susceptible to disease and illness.
* Stress can cause hyperventilation and respiratory problems.
* Stress can cause a variety of digestive issues, including constipation, indigestion and ulcers.
* Stress is aging
It is essental for many of us to have some quiet time alone, to de-stress ourselves from our busy lives. We can use that time for meditation or reflection, self-development, reading, listening to music – whatever calms you and brings you peaceful enjoyment. Many of us also benefit from friendships with other women, we just love talking. Make time for your friends and for making new friends – the more the merrier!
I have recently discovered “Body Talk” which is a system of balancing techniques designed to stimulate your own innate wisdom to initiate the process of self-healing. It’s safe and non-invasive, works fast and brings about ongoing and lasting improvements on a physical, mental and emotional level. Find out more about Body Talk.

Improve Memory ** Increase Energy ** Reduce Stress
You may also want to take a look at Yoga and Meditation techniques that will allow you to discover natural stress relief, develop intuition, increase confidence, enhance mental clarity and improve memory concentration and focus! This is so powerful because it gives you the ability to transform your entire life 24/7 from the comfort of your own home, in about 20 minutes a day.Good nutrition contributes to a feeling of well-being and being able to handle the stress that sometimes is difficult to avoid. My suggestions for that feeling of wellness is to take a good quality anti-oxidant/multi-vitamin, a multi-mineral and omega-3 – along with a healthy diet that contains good helpings of fresh fruit and vegetables. The B vitamins are well known for helping with the stress factors. The anti-oxidants will combat any free radical damage caused by stress. And the Omega-3 will keep our veins supple which will decrease the strain on our heart. An extra supplement that may help with relaxation and sleep is a combination of calcium/magnesium/Vitamin D3/Vitamin K.

Whilst us women are the doorway to life – our mouths are the doorway to our cells. What we put through that doorway and how we take care of that doorway can affect our health big time. Healthy teeth and gums are anti-ageing!I am married to a dentist, so I know first-hand just how important it is to go for a regular check-up. However, I also know that many people do put it off. It does continually surprise me, that I can see a woman who has taken the time and care to have beautiful hair, clothes and make-up and then spoils that picture with an ugly, un-cared for mouth. A smile is the most amazing thing that we can bestow, so why not make it a younger looking beautiful one?
And it is not only just for looks, either. Gum disease and tooth decay can be painless which is why we need a dentist to be our coach – dentists now have the technology to find decay at an early stage using intraoral cameras and digital xrays, and they also have the tools to treat bacteria in our mouths. Find a dentist who is passionate about his patient’s dental health and is using the latest technology to make the patient’s experience as comfortable as possible. My husband uses air abrasion and dental water lasers to treat very tiny areas of decay before they become big, which has enabled him to become a mercury-free dentist. Make sure that your dentist does not place mercury amalgam fillings – after all mercury is one of the most toxic things that we can be exposed to.
Research is revealing that bacteria in our mouths does enter our blood-stream and is a factor in heart disease, stroke and diabetes.

Cigarette smoking in New Zealand is on the decrease. Slowly the message is getting through that it is one of the most toxic things we can put into our bodies. I don’t have any friends who smoke which is great, because I hate being around smokers as I am sensitive to the smoke – it stinks!
Smoking cigarettes ages skin faster than anything else apart from sun damage. There’s no gentle way of saying this. If you smoke cigarettes you need to stop. Aside from the many health issues associated with smoking – if you care at all about wrinkles and you want to look younger for longer – then smoking is out.
Smoking restricts blood flow through the capillaries (tiny veins near the skins surface) preventing oxygen and nutrients getting to the skin smoking increases production of an enzyme which breaks down the supply of collagen to the skin’s structure. Collagen supply is vital to the skin’s elasticity. It decreases with age but smoking cigarettes accelerates this process. Vitamin C is required for healthy collagen prodcution and smoking destroys Vitamin C fast.
Smoking reduces the body’s store of vitamin A which provides protection from skin damage smoking gets in the way of absorption of vitamin C – a vital antioxidant for skin protection and health smokers continual puckering from drawing on a cigarette and squinting in reaction to the cigarette smoke results in deeply wrinkled skin around the eyes and mouth – classic signs of ‘smoker’s face’.

To combat aging for smokers I would recommend you take a broad-spectrum high-quality mega antioxidant and multi mineral, a high quality grapeseed extract and high quality omega-3. That way you would get the extra nutrition that your body is lacking as well as prevent further aging.
